Terms of Use

1. Services and scope

These terms apply to use of the SnipCC desktop app, account and membership services, effective October 6, 2026. Read the relevant terms before registering, signing in or purchasing. The update date is shown at the top of this document.

SnipCC is provided and operated by an individual developer, including its app, account and membership authorization services. See the Privacy Policy for the personal information controller. Contact 260244206@qq.com for service and support. Official website: https://snipcc.com.

2. Software use and content rights

You may use SnipCC through its provided features. Intellectual property rights in the software and related materials belong to their respective owners. These terms neither transfer those rights nor limit rights granted by applicable third-party open-source licenses.

You must have the right to process your screenshots, text, images and attachments. Content you create or import is not transferred to the developer merely by using SnipCC. Do not use the app to violate others' privacy, intellectual property or other lawful rights.

3. Free features and membership benefits

Current basic features include regular capture, annotation, lightweight OCR, lightweight translation and access to AI Chat. Membership includes AI Work, all available OCR and translation models, sticky notes and theme switching. Availability also depends on device requirements, model installation and service configuration.

Membership benefits, duration, price and device seats should be clearly displayed before purchase. Third-party model calls are not automatically free because basic features are free or you have SnipCC membership. Third-party fees are excluded unless explicitly included on the purchase page.

4. Accounts, validity and device authorization

Account features require an email and relevant verification information. Protect your password, verification codes and activation codes. Membership requires a valid account, an active term and authorization for this device. Check the signed-in account before redeeming.

Membership starts when a code is successfully redeemed to an account. If there is no active membership, the term begins at redemption; otherwise it extends the existing expiry date. Monthly, quarterly and annual codes add 1, 3 and 12 calendar months. If the corresponding day does not exist in the target month, its last day is used. Check the expiry date in your account and contact support by email about discrepancies.

A code's redemption deadline differs from membership expiry. Refer to the validity period disclosed for the code and order before purchase. If no redemption deadline is set, waiting to redeem does not consume the membership term. Repeated redemption, theft or resale of redeemed codes is prohibited.

Device seat counts are determined by the plan disclosed before purchase and account records after redemption. If membership is active but this device is unauthorized, seats are full or status cannot be confirmed, refresh or manage devices first. Do not pay again for the same issue. Membership verification requires an internet connection.

5. Third-party purchases and codes

Membership is purchased through the designated third-party code platform wzyp.cn. The platform and selected payment provider handle orders and payments; this is not a Microsoft Store in-app purchase. The developer is responsible for delivering SnipCC membership benefits and related support; the platform is responsible for its own services.

Payment, code delivery, account redemption and device authorization are separate steps. If payment status is unclear, a code has not arrived or activation fails, check the original order and contact support. Keep payment evidence and avoid paying twice. See Purchase and Refund Rules for details.

The current client offers one-time purchases of monthly, quarterly or annual plans; it does not implement automatic renewal charges. Any new renewal or charging mechanism must be explained separately and appropriately authorized.

6. AI, OCR, translation and local actions

OCR, translations and AI-generated content may be incomplete or inaccurate. Check results before using them. When using a third-party cloud service, follow its rules and understand what data will be sent.

AI Work may call application tools and change local content. Check the target, preview and results; actions that require confirmation should run only after your confirmation. Back up important content. This clause does not waive the developer's statutory liability for product defects.

7. Service changes and termination

Features, compatibility and models may change with updates. Major changes affecting purchased benefits should be announced in advance with appropriate remedies. Amending these terms alone must not unilaterally reduce the value of services within a purchased term.

If the service will be discontinued, users should be notified promptly and unfulfilled purchased services addressed through continued service, replacement or an appropriate refund. Third-party payment processing does not waive SnipCC's own delivery and support responsibilities.

8. Contact and dispute resolution

Contact 260244206@qq.com about services, payments, codes and refunds. First seek verification and resolution by email. If no agreement is reached, you retain the right to pursue complaints, mediation or proceedings before a competent court under applicable law.

These terms do not exclude or limit statutory consumer rights, or waive the developer's legal responsibilities through general disclaimers. Mandatory provisions of applicable law prevail over conflicting terms.
